Case Study:  Advanced Research Laboratories



Challenge:

Advanced Research Laboratories wanted to increase market share in the fabric detergent market by making different detergent formulas for different types of fabrics, then match the color of the detergent to the color of the clothes to be washed. To do so, they needed to develop a transparent bottle that would allow consumers to clearly see the new products.

 

Solution:

Working with industry partners Industrias Plasticas Mapeza and Indelpro SA de CV and using their Millad® 3988 clarifying agent, Milliken created a clear, extrusion blow molded bottle with a handle in two sizes, 1.56 liters and 1 liter.

 

Result:

Transparent bottles with excellent optical properties. Sales of their fabric detergent line increased approximately 50 percent since the launch of the new products.
